In His Own Words, The Story Behind Plugg Technologies

It all started with a medium rare steak and a glass of malbec and I was hooked. In all seriousness, when I first visited Argentina in 2012 as a solo backpacker I was in love. The energy of Buenos Aires, the passion, the food, culture, and the way the people navigated the complexities and volatility of the government. I couldnโ€™t get enough and it set me on a path to share this with everyone I could.

Latin America has had a tremendous impact on me. I proposed to my wife in Costa Rica, Iโ€™ve been to Argentina 9 times, including building several businesses there, and my partner Ruben was an expat in Monterrey, Mexico. Additionally, Iโ€™ve worked with people in over a dozen countries in Central and South America. Itโ€™s a special part of the world, filled with energetic people that want to work hard, add value, and because of what they have faced in their lives, theyโ€™re adaptable, gritty, and among the best problem solvers Iโ€™ve ever worked with.

My vision is to build Plugg into the most knowledgeable and helpful nearshore staffing firm out there, where we provide consultative advice to help companies understand tradeoffs, talent pockets, currencies, customs, culture, and more, so that they can make the best decisions on where to place their teams.

We know it can feel scary and risky to hire team members in another country, and our mission is to be there every step of the way, providing true white glove service. Everything from advice to providing a short list of candidates to procuring hardware and everything in between.ย Weโ€™ve taken special care to hire team members at Plugg that are well traveled and deeply passionate about Latin America. This goes a long way in ensuring that our customers and consultants are understood and well taken care of. Weโ€™ve visited Lima, La Paz, Rio, Caracas, Managua, and many other exciting cities and can tell you first-hand about the culture, food, good, bad, and ugly.

My team and I care deeply about our customers and their businesses. I try to bring my experience as a business owner and someone that has fundraised millions of dollars in capital along with several years on executive teams for VC funded startups. We know that itโ€™s not easy to succeed and the team you build and the decisions behind them can impact your companyโ€™s fate.

I thank you for putting your trust in us,
